Wednesday Open Heavens Devotional - Divine Touch

Memorise: And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. Mark 1:41

Read: Luke 7:11-15
11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people. 12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. 15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.

Message
Divine touch simply refers to the touch of the Almighty Creator of the world. While there is the divine touch, there is also the satanic and human touch. Whatever is touched by God becomes extraordinarily good. Also, any negative situation that comes in contact with the divine touch experiences a positive turn-around. In Matthew 8:1-4, Jesus touched a leper and his leprosy disappeared. Also, in John 9:1-7, a man who was born blind regained his sight by the divine touch of Jesus Christ. A touch from Jesus can uproot a genetic problem. Even if the source of your problem is demonic, the touch of Jesus can take care of problems that even X-rays or MRI cannot see anything wrong with him or her, but the fellow would know that something is actually wrong somewhere.

It is interesting to note that a person can initiate the process that yields the divine touch if he or she believes. The leper initiated the process that brought him the divine touch when he came asking Jesus to heal him. It was just a touch that solved his problem (Mark 1:40-41).

The story in our Bible reading today is a classic illustration of how the divine touch can turn around a hopeless situation. A widow lost her only son to untimely death and was on her way to bury her only hope. This widow and her dead son encountered Jesus on the way, and their situation was turned around through His divine touch. I pray for someone using this devotional that you will experience the divine touch in all areas of your life in Jesus’ Name. For you to experience the divine touch, you must take out time to study those who have had this experience in the past. Take the example of the lepers at the outskirts of town and came into the town at great risk to meet Jesus, all because he had unwavering faith that Jesus would make him whole. You need to have unwavering faith in the infallible Word of God. You can demonstrate this when you have high regard for the contents of the Bible and keep to its tenets. My prayer again is that the power in the Word of God will work for and not against you in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, have compassion on me and touch my situation for good in Jesus’ Name.
