Faith And The Blessing

They which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. – Galatians 3:9. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You don’t beg to be blessed if you are loaded with faith.

God created man and equipped him with the blessing according to the twenty-eighth verse of Genesis chapter one,“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." That is to say, you were created to exist and swim in the blessing of God. What God did at creation was to robe man with the blessing. And God did not change His mind concerning the blessing despite the failure of man. For time and eternity, God is eternally committed to the blessing of man, especially, the righteous.
However, our anchor Scripture points out that, ‘They which be of faith are blessed….’ That means there is a connection between faith and the blessing of God. Faith, therefore, is a requirement for the blessing of God. It is a magnetic force that pulls the blessing in the direction of the righteous. Faith attracts the blessing. To be deficient of faith, therefore, is to be bankrupt of the blessing. You don’t beg to be blessed if you are loaded with faith.
Beloved, it is very crucial then to know what faith is. Understanding faith here is necessary because if you must be successful in any realm, you must have sufficient knowledge in that realm. To be successful, both in the spiritual and in other areas of life, you need a solid knowledge of faith. Many people fail in the school of the Supernatural because of minimal or no knowledge about the subject of faith. So, what then is faith?

1. Faith is committing one’s life and destiny to the care of God and His Word. A man or a woman of faith is someone who has entrusted their life, destiny and future into the Hand of God. If they live or die, swim or sink, it is God and only God they trust and look up to.
2. Based on the life of Abraham and his son, faith is a walk. I call it a journey in the direction of God’s Will. A man or woman of faith, therefore, is someone taking a journey in the direction of God’s Will. When you are a person of faith, you take steps only based on what you see in the Word of God.
Papa Oyedepo said many years ago that he came across a Scripture that says, ‘Thou shall lend to nations and thou shall not borrow’ (Deuteronomy 28:12), and then decided to ask the Lord why? And the Lord referred him to another Scripture: ‘and the borrower is servant to the lender’ (Prov. 22:7). From that day, he said he vowed never to borrow for life.
Beloved, as you decide to walk in faith, your blessings shall locate you. It is a new day for you in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT (S): 1. Ask God for grace to walk the walk of faith. 2. Study and listen to the Word of God because you get faith by hearing the Word (Rom. 10:17).
PRAYER: Lord, help me to grow my faith in order to maximize the benefits of Redemption, in Jesus’ Name.
