Secrets Of High Fliers

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. – Daniel 1:8. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your spiritual base determines your destiny base.

A high-flier is a high achiever. He is a highly successful person or somebody who seems destined for great achievement in life. Such a person rises quickly to a position of wealth or success.
As children of God, we are meant to be high fliers in life. This is because the plan of God is to set us on high in our career or field of endeavour. That is why our Master, Jesus Christ says in the fifth Chapter of Matthew verse fourteen, ‘Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.’ In essence, we are meant to occupy the topmost positions in life. As a child of God, you are not supposed to be struggling for food with dogs. You are an eagle meant to be soaring high in the sky. You are not meant to be struggling for rubbish with pigs, you are a lion meant to roar and scatter preys. Beloved, God created you to occupy lofty places in life. You are designed by God to be a high flier.
However, there are certain keys to existing as a highflier in life. Such are the secrets of a man like Daniel in our anchor Scripture. Daniel, without doubt, was a high flier who was highly positioned by God.
But what are the secrets behind his rise to the top?

1. A Solid Sense of Purpose. The anchor Scripture says, ‘Daniel purposed in his heart…’this means Daniel was a man of purpose. And people of purpose are people of power. A purposeful man, therefore, is a valuable man because power attracts value. On the other hand, People that are purposeless are valueless. Daniel wasn’t a time or life waster. He knew what he was alive for, and he achieved it.
2. Unhidden Spirituality and Prayerfulness. Daniel had an unhidden life of spirituality and prayerfulness. In Daniel 6:10, after a decree was issued that nobody should pray to anyone – god or human, save the King, Daniel opened his windows towards Jerusalem and prayed as at other times.
You see, spirituality is key to authority. And prayerfulness is key to usefulness. You can’t be prayerful and be useless on earth. You cannot have spirituality and end as a nonentity. Your spiritual base determines your destiny base. In Mathew 6:33, we were admonished to ‘seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and these things will be added to us.’
Some may choose to ask, ‘what about people who don’t know God and are still doing well in life.’ You need to go close to such people to find out how “well” they are actually doing. You will be appalled by the level of insecurity, fear, instability and miseries that characterise their lives. Such people may have to enter into dangerous “occultic” or diabolical covenants to sustain the so-called success. You may not hesitate to have a rethink if you see the other side of “success” without God.
Beloved, don’t envy anybody who appears ‘successful’ without knowing God because that “success” is a failure and calamity in disguise. You shall have good success in Jesus Name.

ASSIGNMENT (S)
1. Endeavour to discover the purpose of God for your life and do everything you can in order to fulfil that purpose.
2. Ensure that your spiritual life is solid.
