Lack Of Spirituality; The Hindrance Of Destiny

Vent your anger on the godless nations, who refuse to acknowledge you, And on the people, who won't pray to you. – Jeremiah 10:25 (MSG). THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The lack of a personal altar of relationship with God is a hindrance to destiny.

Spirituality is very important in life. It is very crucial to the fulfilment of destiny. Spirituality is the secret of every great man or woman on earth who fulfilled destiny. The Bible says of Abraham in Genesis 19:27, ‘And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord’. Daniel also had a strong spiritual life, the reason he was able to outlive four kings under different empires. For instance, when the King passed a decree that none should make petition (prayer) to any God or man, save the king, Daniel 6:10 says, ‘Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime’. Daniel maintained his devotion to God (spirituality) even in the face of imminent danger (death) and became a candidate of generational exploits.

If spirituality is critical to the fulfilment of destiny, then it means that lack of spirituality is a major reason for unfulfilled destiny. What then does lack of spirituality mean?

i) Lack of spirituality refers to the lack of a personal altar of relationship with God. A person who has no spirituality usually depends on the spirituality of another person; they either depend on a pastor or somebody else for prayers. The lack of a personal altar of relationship with God is, therefore, a hindrance to destiny.

ii) Lack of spirituality refers to living a life that is too busy for God. It is where a man is too busy for God; he cannot go to Church or study the Bible because of his business or job.

iii) Lack of spirituality refers to living a life that is too noisy for God. Noise does not equal impact. To be too noisy is to have no time to think or pray. This is detrimental to destiny.

iv) Lack of spirituality refers to living a life where God is not central. There are people whose lives revolve around money and the pursuit of it. There are others whose lives revolve around pleasure, position, popularity, etc. God is not at the centre of such people’s lives.

v) Lack of spirituality refers to a life of success with people but failure with God. Such people may seem to be succeeding with people but failing with God.
Beloved, this shall not be your portion in life in Jesus’ Name.

ASSIGNMENT (S): 1. Go through the message of today again meditatively. 2. Avoid the hindrances listed above in your life.

PRAYER: O Lord, I pray for increased intensity of spirituality, in Jesus Name.
