David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out
of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out
of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be
with thee. – 1 Samuel 17:37. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith
declares the outcome in the midst of battle.
In the Book of first Samuel chapter seventeen, the
Philistines engaged the Israelites in battle. The Israelites, under the
leadership of King Saul, could not confront their enemies because they were
afraid particularly of a giant called Goliath who came out to challenge and
insult them for forty days. But the story changed when David, a faith-loaded
stripling came to the scene. He confronted and conquered Goliath by the power
of faith. David was a man who faced danger, pressure and confrontations on
every side, and yet was not ‘killable’. That is to say, there is nothing that
can stand before the power of faith. For a man of faith, every challenge is an
opportunity for a change. This is because there is no obstacle or danger that
faith cannot tackle.
With faith, David was able to declare the outcome of his battle with Goliath from the beginning. In 1 Samuel 17:46 when he confronted Goliath, he declared, ‘This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.’ The fact is, if faith was absent in the life of David, he would have been a chicken for Goliath. Faith, therefore, declares the outcome of the battle in the midst of battle. Faith declares the end from the beginning. Faith is telling the end of the story when it has not yet happened. Faith celebrates victory before it arrives. Faith rejoices in triumph in the midst of trial. This is to confirm your belief in God in the midst of the trial.
Beloved, your language determines your outcome. Like David above, determine to make faith-based positive declaration in the face of any challenging situation. I don’t know what you may be facing today, if you can deploy the weapon of faith, you will see that the devil is only a loser. The just shall live by faith (Rom. 1:17). Therefore, let your faith declare the outcome of your battle, and victory shall be yours, in Jesus’ Name.
