For
thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with
a shield. Psalms
5:12
THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: The
righteous do not beg to be blessed.
Our anchor
Scripture tells us that the Lord will bless the righteous. That is to say the
righteous man or woman does not beg to be blessed. They do not need a special
prayer and fasting in order to be blessed by God. To be blessed therefore is a
natural realm of the righteous. That is why you should never allow any devil
deceive you that you are suffering because you are a Christian. Don’t buy the
false idea of the enemy that says, ‘Until you compromise and receive or give a
bribe like others, you will not be rich or successful.’ That is a lie from the
devil because in the Scriptures, Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, Esther and David were
all blessed in righteousness. They stood for God in their respective generation
and as a result, they became the most blessed in their generations.
I don’t
care how corrupt and dark the nation or land may be, because Isaiah
60:1–2 says, ‘Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the
glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the
earth, and gross darkness the people.’ That is to say, the whole land
might be full of darkness, with all manner of confusion, iniquity and
wickedness, but even in the midst of that, ‘The Lord shall rise upon you and
His glory shall be seen on your life’ (Isaiah 60:2b). You shall see
the glory of God on your life in a short while, in Jesus’ Name. Beloved, it
really pays to be righteous because the righteous do not beg to be blessed.
ASSIGNMENT
