Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his
courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. Psalms 100:4
THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: A thankless life is a life devoid of Divine
Presence...
Thanksgiving grants us access to God’s Presence; when people are
thankful, they access Divine Presence. To be thankful therefore is to enjoy
Divine Presence. According to our anchor Scripture, you enter into His gates
with thanksgiving. Thanksgiving should therefore precede supplication. That is
why a thankless life is a life devoid of Divine Presence. Even prayer is
rendered fruitless by consistent murmuring and grumbling. To pray without
thanksgiving is like somebody standing outside the fence of a man’s house,
trying to communicate with the man who may be in his bedroom. So, if you want
to reach God’s Presence and be heard by Him, it is thanksgiving that will take
you through the gate to the inner chamber of His Presence.
One of the worst ways the devil can attack people is by making them
thankless or ungrateful because he knows that if he makes you ungrateful, he
has crippled your prayer and spiritual life. The fact is, you can fast and pray
for a lengthy period of time without result if you are a ‘murmurer’, grumbler,
or a thankless person. Personally, every single day of my life, I trust God to
see things to thank God for, and the more I thank Him, the more I see great
things happen in my life. God has given me the privilege of being around great
people like God’s servant, Bishop David Oyedepo and several others. You can’t
stay near such people for five (5) minutes or thereabout without hearing,
‘Halleluiah, thank You Lord, He is alive, Jesus is faithful.’ No matter the air
of negativity that may attempt to blow around such people, thanksgiving keeps
flowing naturally and freely from their utterances. And I think they do it
deliberately as a spiritual principle based on revelation and understanding
that if you just keep praising and thanking God, things must change.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Always thank God for what He has done for you before any other prayer.
2. Learn to thank Him ahead of time.
1. Always thank God for what He has done for you before any other prayer.
2. Learn to thank Him ahead of time.
PRAYER: Lord,
I thank You for where I am going because no devil can stop me, in Jesus’ Name.
