And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall
bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of
thee. Exodus 23:25.
THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: If you serve God well, you don’t beg for
honour or respect...
From our anchor Scripture of today, we understand that you don’t need to
beg to be blessed when you serve the Lord. Luke 22:35 says, ‘And
he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked
ye anything? And they said, Nothing.’ So, if you serve God well, you
don’t beg for honour or respect. We once went to a state for a programme in a
Church, and the state government refused to allow us to stay in a hotel.
Instead, they sent their staff with their entourage all the way to the airport
to receive us and lodge us at the Government house. Though I wasn’t looking for
it, it was offered. In addition to this, several high ranking government
officials attended the service. This goes to prove that when you serve the
Lord, you don’t beg for what other people are dying to get. By the special
grace and mercy of God, there is nobody in this country whose appointment I am
struggling to get. Why? It is because of rugged donated service to God. I went
to a place to minister and the second person in command in that place asked the
contact person, ‘Can the man come over here? And the contact person said, ‘No
sir, you are the one to meet him.’
As people donated to the service of God, we don’t struggle for attention
or honour. Beloved, endeavour to make it a point of duty to go into serious
evangelism and soul-winning this year. Let there be at least one person that
comes to Jesus Christ because of you; let somebody be on your record monthly,
weekly or yearly as a person who you brought to know God. You should be able to
point to someone and say, ‘Thank God for this brother’s life. I remember the
day I went out and saw him smoking. Now, look at him; he is one of the leaders
in the prayer band’, etc. Heaven will no doubt look at that and reward and honour
you. Beloved, be committed to serving God so that He can be committed to
blessing and honouring you.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Prayerfully ask God to give you passion for souls.
2. Endeavour to go for evangelism every week.

PRAYER: Lord,
create a deep hunger for the souls of men in me so that more souls can be
snatched from hell to Heaven, in Jesus’ Name.
