Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. Romans 12:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You need to accept responsibility, push
the devil out of the way and enforce the release of what belongs to you.
Yesterday
we saw from the story of Jabez that things will not work for you until you work
them out. Today we are looking at how to accept responsibility and some
examples of people who did the same in Scripture. One of such people was Joseph
who was shown the picture of his future as someone who would stand in authority
with his brethren bowing to him. But this did not come on a platter of gold as
it took nothing less than thirteen (13) solid years of all manner of challenges
before he could arrive there. David was anointed to become King at the age of
seventeen (17) by Prophet Samuel, but that Anointing did not automatically make
the throne vacant. He waited for another thirteen (13) solid years; he had to
work to sit on the throne including bringing down Goliath and having deadly
confrontations with the reigning king, King Saul. That is to say, irrespective
of the circumstances of your birth, you have to pay the price of responsibility
to get to authority or fulfil your destiny in life.
Jacob
got the birthright from Esau, and got their father’s blessing as well, but it
took twenty-one (21) years before the real substance of his covenant blessing was
released in his life. Isaac was the son of a rich man (Abraham), and by virtue
of this, he probably didn’t have to work in order to sustain his life, but he
refused to depend on the success of his father; he worked very hard, and
literally fought his way up. You need to accept responsibility, push the devil
out of the way and enforce the release of what belongs to you.
The
fact that you are born again and filled with the Holy Ghost does not mean you
have to sit down, fold your arms and wait for food to jump into your mouth. You
need to wake up, be aware, alert and make demands on God for your spiritual
inheritance to come to you. God is about to transform, translate, and
translocate you from that miserable condition of life into an honourable place,
in the Name of Jesus!
