The God Of Restoration

Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him… When thou art departed from me today, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel's sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found… 1 Samuel 10:1–2
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God has the capacity to move us from negative challenges to positive surprises.

God is a God of restoration; He is a Repairer, Restorer and ‘Renewer’. When Saul’s father’s donkeys went missing, Saul and his servants, in the process of looking for them, came in contact with Prophet Samuel, and by that prophetic encounter, there was a restoration. The missing donkeys were found and what he was not looking for was added to him; the kingdom of Israel was given to him to rule as king. God has the capacity to move us from negative challenges to positive surprises. God knows how to turn into good what the enemy meant for evil. He has the capacity to deliver beyond our desires. Saul was just looking for donkeys but God gave him a kingdom in addition.
Another person who received restoration in the Scriptures was the wife of one of the sons of the prophet in 2 Kings 4:1–7. Her husband died in debt (which is an abomination as a servant of God). And you know God is no respecter of persons; when you violate His principles, you will pay for it. First, the prophet was a borrower and God says, ‘Thou shall not borrow’ (Deut. 15:6). The prophet died in debt. Secondly, it appears to me like the man was not a covenant practitioner. This is because if he was a ‘tither’, he probably wouldn’t have died in debt. God is no respecter of titles; He is a respecter of His principles. And when you don’t violate His principles, you will see results.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Endeavour to have more confidence in God. 2. Try as much as possible not to violate His principles for maximum results.

PRAYER: Lord, I am confident that You are working out for good what the enemy meant for evil in my life, in Jesus’ Name.
