And I
will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name
great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and
curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be
blessed. Genesis
12:2-3
THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: A
blessed man does not fight his own battles; God fights for him.
In our
study yesterday, we saw that the blessing imparts greatness and prominence in
life. Today, we shall see how the blessing of God carries Divine protection and
preservation. God told Abraham that anybody who blessed him would be blessed
and anybody who cursed Him would be cursed. A blessed man, therefore, does not
fight his own battles; God fights for him. That is why you should be careful
how you touch or tamper with a man who carries the Anointing and Blessing of
God on his life. There are people who have not recovered from some problems in
life because of how they opened their mouths carelessly to speak against a man
who carries the Blessing. This is because God Himself fights for the blessed.
When a man
carries the blessing on his life, to fight him is to fight and engage the
‘Blesser’ (God). God will assist anyone who assists the blessed and hinder
anyone who resists them. As a blessed person, anyone who says to you, ‘It will
be well with you’, cannot see the end of wellness in his life. But anyone who
says, ‘It will not be well with you’, God will baptise him with tribulation.
The mystery
of Divine protection and preservation was the mystery at work in the life of
Abraham when Abimelech, the king of Gerar took his wife. Though Abraham could
not speak for himself, in the night, God fought for him. Genesis 20:3tells
us that God appeared to Abimelech in the dream of the night and said to him,
‘Behold, you are a dead man. The fact that you are hearing me now does not mean
you are alive. You have died; you are only waiting to be buried’(Genesis
20:3 paraphrased). Why? He took the wife of a blessed man; he touched the
woman that belonged to a covenant partner of God. From today, anywhere you
arrive, a Supernatural aura of defence will surround you, in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT
(S):
1. Cease to rely on your own strength and let God fight your battles.
2. Be a carrier of the Blessing.

PRAYER: I am too blessed to be
destroyed; I am too blessed to be wasted, in Jesus’ Name.
