Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee
great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.Jeremiah 33:3. THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: God does not play with His Word.
One of the secrets of effective and impactful prayer is praying with Word
revelation. The Word of God is the basis for any prayer that must be effective.
If God did not ask us to call upon Him from His Word and He will answer, there
would have been no reason to pray at all (Jer. 33:3). Psalm
138:2 says, ‘I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy
name for thy loving-kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy
word above all thy name.’ God has therefore magnified His Word above everything
else. The meaning of that is, God does not play with His Word. His Word holds a
very high level of value in His sight. Human beings may play with words but
Jehovah does not. I was listening to a program some time ago and a man was
playing with words. He was saying things he didn’t mean. That is not so with
God. He has no capacity to talk carelessly because even His “careless” talk can
come to pass. When He told Peter to cast his net for a catch in the deep, even
though there were no fishes in the lake before, because the Word came out of
His mouth, the waters were populated on the spot with fishes. His Word is
heavier than the word of any herbalist or magician. Therefore, anything you see
under heaven that does not line up with the Bible (the Word of God), trash it
because it has no capacity for survival.
