And the servant of
the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. 2 Tim. 2:24
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Struggle only to be what God wants you to be and
not what another person is. Continue...
The presence of strife is the
absence of God and the presence of hatred. The presence of hatred is the
absence of God because you don’t strive with somebody you love. Any man that is
in strife, hatred and competitive jealousy has eliminated God from his life
because God is love (John 4:8). Love can never be found where hatred or
strife is. Therefore, you must do everything possible to avoid strife.
Strife is the killer of joy. As
long as you are in bitterness and jealousy, it will kill your joy and joy is
necessary for your destiny. Therefore, my counsel to you is, struggle only to
be what God wants you to be and not what another person is. Paul said in Philippians
3:14, ‘I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God
in Christ Jesus.’ Therefore, refuse every invitation to strive and
shun every competitive jealousy. People will deliberately invite you to engage
in competition that leads to jealousy, avoid it! Also, wish everyone well and
pray for them. You cannot pray to God to make someone everything He wants them
to be without God making you to become what you want to be. Life is a seed; it
is practical. You cannot strive with the person you pray for consistently. When
you do this, you will begin to reap the seeds you have sown.
Remember this: struggle only to be
what God wants you to be and not what another person is.
PRAYER:
Lord, I make a commitment to be what You want me to be, in Jesus’ Name.
