Divine Turn-Around

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets. Luke 5:1-2. Continue...

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The end of human effort is the beginning of Divine input.
The fishermen were washing their nets nearby because their labour produced no yield. They probably were about to go home and tell their wives that there was nothing to show for a day’s labour. What this means is that there is a limit to human expertise, wisdom and effort. Peter was not new at fishing (not an amateur fisherman), he was not using a canoe or boat to fish, he was using a ship, yet he toiled all night and caught nothing.

Beloved, there are times when a man has exhausted his efforts, wisdom and expertise. At such times, God wants to show that man is limited and that there is an extent he can’t reach in life except God is involved. There is a point in life where you know that you can’t move further without God; that was the point Peter got to. It is at such times that some people commit suicide, join the occult, etc.

The end of human effort is the beginning of Divine input. When you are at the end of your own struggle, then the stage is set for God to manifest. A young lady sent me a text some time ago. In the text, she said that she was owing a bank some money in five zeroes. A word came in a service held towards the end of that year, that there would be no carry-over and that God was going to change people’s stories. On the 30th of December, she received a message from the bank that an unknown person came and paid the exact amount of her debt into her account and cleared the loan. Today, if there is anybody saying, ‘I am exhausted; I don’t know what to do again, I have tried everything. My wisdom, certificate and connections have failed me.’ Congratulations! God is about to start something new in your life.

Remember this: the end of human effort is the beginning of Divine input.

ASSIGNMENT (S)

  1. Come to the point in your life where there is practically nothing that you can boast about.
  2. Surrender your expertise, knowledge, certificate and contacts to God.

PRAYER: Lord, I depend on You for everything. Help me to continually remind myself of this, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE:   Those who wait on the Lord cannot waste on earth. Those who trust in God cannot rust in life. Culled from 30 SECRETS TO THE TOP by Dr Paul Enenche.
