THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: God
cannot use a person that is struggling for human evaluation.
When the
Angel told Mary, ‘Thou art highly favoured. The Lord is with thee …’ the Bible
says that Mary was troubled and uncomfortable with what looked like flattery or
praise. Her frame of mind was totally contrary to ostentation and vain
glorification. Any man or woman that is not affected by commendation and is not
moved by condemnation is the person that God will use. God cannot use a person
that is struggling for human evaluation or opinion; rather He uses people that
are struggling for the opinion of God.
There are
some people that get angry when somebody fails to give them the appropriate
title because they need an elevation that God has not given to them. Somebody
said it is better to be qualified and not given a position than to be given a
position that you are not qualified for. God, who searches the heart, knew that
if Mary gave birth to Jesus, she would still remain humble and kind. If some
other people were given the opportunity to be the mother of Jesus, they would
want to be introduced in every single service; they would want the whole world
to know, ‘I am the one that produced this result.’ But Mary absolutely stayed
in the background. We saw her only three times, at His birth, the wedding at
Cana of Galilee and at His death.
There are
so many people that God wanted to lift up but a little promotion, money or
popularity entered their head; they lost their humility and consecration.
Beloved, God has a plan for you, but you must come to the point where you are
not moved by human opinion. When you have done that, you will arrive at a realm
that is called favour with God.
Remember
this: God cannot use a person that is struggling for human evaluation.
