Tribute To Dr. Myles Munroe By David & Peace Ibiyeomie

“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (for we walk by faith, not by sight  We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore, we labour that, whether present or absent from body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:1-9. Continue...

Dr. Myles Munroe was an internationally renowned best-selling author, lecturer, teacher, life coach, government consultant, and leadership mentor. He was an anointed teacher, whatever he was teaching grabbed a hold of your spirit in a practical way. Dr. Myles Munroe was an admired speaker at conferences. His gifts were wonderfully used of the Lord as he spoke with great clarity as well as simplicity, making difficult theological concepts plain to even the youngest believers.

We recall with nostalgia his first visit to our Church, Salvation Ministries (Home of Success), Port Harcourt, Nigeria, on the 21st March, 2014 where a strong intimacy was established leading to his promise to visit us again in 2015. A month after he wrote to inform us that he would be with us in June, 2014 which led to his second visit that spanned through the 4th & 5th of June, 2014.

During this visit, he was Guest Speaker in our monthly Programme tagged, DIVINE ENCOUNTER. He spoke on “Empowerment for continuous Progress (Kingdom Principles)” His teaching and exposition was so brilliant and electrifying that we wished he could stay longer with us. We would want to posit that he foresaw his death hence his change of mind to rather visit us in June since he would not stay beyond 2014.

Death, for the believer, is not the end of life but a continuation of it in another place.
Considering his life, the time he had and the things he did, Dr. Myles Munroe was beyond his time in everything he did. It was as if he knew that time was of the essence. He found God early and made a decision to serve Him dedicatedly.

The measure of a life is not in its duration but in its contribution. When we think of Dr. Myles Munroe’s contributions; what he contributed, what he invested, we have much to be thankful to God. Contrary to what we would have liked, Dr. Myles Munroe, our friend has taken an earlier flight, but we still share a common destination when the time comes.

His race ended earlier than we anticipated, but we still have our race to run, and would not have it any other way than that we give our very best for the Kingdom of God.

We will deeply miss our friend, Dr. Myles Munroe and his wife, Dr. Ruth Munroe. But we rejoice this day that they are with our Saviour, Jesus.
