What It Means To Love God

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:18-19. Continue...

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To love God is to eliminate His pain and establish His pleasure. One of the signs of dedication to God is passion for souls. To love God is to gladly run His errands because you will gladly run the errands of someone you love. To be dedicated to God is to be dedicated and donated to His passion and His passion is for the souls of men (2 Peter 3:9).

Early Christians were known by their passion to evangelise and lead souls to Christ. To love God is to eliminate His pain and establish His pleasure. It pains God that multitudes are trooping to hell. So, if you love God, you will be committed to eliminating His pain and establishing His pleasure. So, that is why rugged evangelism is a pillar of dedication.

If someone claims to be a Christian, and can even pray for 12 hours a day, but has no interest in leading souls to Christ, interceding for souls to be saved, or in giving his resources for soul-winning, that claim is hypocritical. There are pastors who are interested in Church growth but not soul-winning. For them, Church growth is an achievement. One pastor came to ask me for the secret of Church growth and I said to him, ‘Go for souls, not for the sake of achievement, but for the sake of souls.’

Ensure that soul-winning is part of your intercessory agenda. You can go for souls to be won, give for souls to be won or groan for souls to be won. God’s command is for all of us to be in these 3 categories at once. My prayer for you is that God will help you to use every situation to lead somebody to Christ, in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Remember this: to love God is to eliminate His pain and establish His pleasure.

ASSIGNMENT (S)

  1. Make soul-winning a deliberate act and not something you do by accident.
  2. Endeavour to regularly arm yourself with evangelism materials.

PRAYER: Lord, I make Your Passion my passion. I live for Your pleasure oh Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
