Hunger For God

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple. Ps. 27:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To love God is to love His Voice or Words. Anyone who is genuinely dedicated to God is hungry for the Word of God.1 John 5:2 says, ‘By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.’ Continue...

Take note of the following key thoughts under this subject:

  1.  To love God is to love His Voice or Words. A real sign that somebody is in love is that he looks forward to hearing the voice of his lover. When a person’s voice irritates you, it is a confirmation that there is a breakdown of relationship between you and that person.
  2. To love God is to desire to know His will or what He wants in order to please Him. Whenever you love somebody, you will want to know what they like so that you can please them. That is why the love of God is confirmed by passion for His Word and Will. That is the reason for David’s utterance in Psalm 27:4 our anchor text.

Every time your love for the Bible begins to die, your dedication to God also begins to die. To be able to go for 7 days without opening the Bible confirms that something is dying inside you.

Smith Wigglesworth was called the man of one Book, and that Book was the Bible. He used to tell people that if anybody caught him anytime of the day or night without the Bible, he would give that person money. He was permanently in possession of the Book and he opened it almost every 30 minutes. Hunger for the Word is a confirmation of dedication to God.

Remember this: To love God is to love His Voice or His Words.

ASSIGNMENT (S)
  1. Follow a daily Bible study plan such as that of the SOD (Seed of Destiny).
  2. Create time to meditate on the Word of God.

PRAYER: Lord, I love You. Never let me go Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY READING: MORNING: Ezekiel 40-42         EVENING: Ps. 129

QUOTE: To be in touch with the Word of God is to be in touch with the life of God. The more revelations you get out of the Bible, the more like Him you become. Culled from MAKING FULL PROOF OF MINISTRY by Dr Paul Enenche.
