Mass tango for Pope's 78th

POPE Francis was treated to a cake, cards and tango for his 78th birthday, while poor people in Rome received 125st of chicken at soup kitchens.

Francis greeted eight homeless people bearing sunflowers during his general audience yesterday, held under sunny skies inside St Peter's Square.

Outside the square, more than 2,000 people came from all over Italy to perform the tango. The dance originated in his home country, Argentina.
