Don’t Waste Your Life

A wise youth makes hay while the sun shines, but what a shame to see a lad who sleeps away his hour of opportunity. Proverbs 10:5 (TLB).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Good vision without action equals daydreaming. Continue...

The easiest thing to waste is a lifetime. Some waste money, others waste opportunities but majority of human beings waste life and that is the worst thing that can happen to anybody.
What do you do in life to ensure that your life is not wasted?

1. The first thing is to ensure that there is always a vision in front of you - a daily, weekly or monthly objective; it could be spiritual, career or otherwise.

2. The second thing to do is to back your vision with planning. Planning is equal to strategic thinking: it is a major investment of time. People stink because they don’t think. And if we can have the time to sit down and plan, vision will translate into planning, and planning will translate into action points and steps. Every strategic thinking that is done well will generate ideas, steps, and actions.

3. The next thing is that the action steps must be scheduled. Many people have plans but they don’t have schedules, so the plans never see the light of day. The Bible says the vision is for an appointed time.

When I was in courtship with my wife, I came home one day and my mother asked, ‘When are you people planning to get married?’ I said, ‘I am not sure yet,’ because I was looking at a few factors. Then she said, ‘Give it a date because anything that does not have a date has no right to come to pass.’ You don’t expect it to happen, if it is not scheduled. Without a timeline, there can be no headline. Your vision is useless and planning is a waste of time if schedule is not included. After the scheduling, then you can go to work. Good vision without action equals daydreaming; it is either a daydream or a nightmare.

ASSIGNMENT (S)
1. Endeavour to always have a vision before you.
2. Prayerfully make plans and put those plans to action.

PRAYER: Lord, I shall not waste my life. I receive strength to go into action in order to fulfil destiny, in Jesus’ Name.
