There
was a man in the land
of Uz , whose name was
Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and
eschewed evil. Job

THOUGHT
FOR THE DAY: The
silence of character is louder than the utterance of compromise. Continue...
Character
is not just powerful, character is power. The real power of a man is the power
of character and not financial, muscular or occultic power. The silence of
character is louder than the utterance of compromise. This means that for
people of character, their silence weighs heavier than the utterance of normal
people. Job was undoubtedly a man of massive character. In his generation, he commanded both
the audience and the attention of the people on the ground of character (Job
29:21-23).
There are
people that others long to hear and there are those that people have no
patience for. For example, nobody looks for career counsel from an armed
robber or a harlot. Why? They lack character power. That is why it is very
important for us to know the advantages of positive character.
What are
the implications of good character?
Character
guarantees Divine guidance and direction. Uprightness brings
direction. Ps 112:4 says, ‘Unto the upright there ariseth
light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.’
So, righteousness brings
brightness and unrighteousness invites darkness. A sinner will never find his
way in life as long as he remains in sin. When Adam and Eve committed sin in
the Garden of Eden, they were disconnected from the Presence and Voice of God.
Every time you allow iniquity and compromise in your life, you are not only
disconnecting yourself from the Presence of God, you are disconnecting yourself
from the Voice of God and Divine direction. People who do this live a life of
trial and error. A life that is filled with compromise is full of confusion and
where there is no direction, disaster is inevitable.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
- Ask God for grace to live an
upright life.
- Prayerfully work on your character.
PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to
continually work on my character, in Jesus’ Name.
