The Substance Of Faith

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for ..........." Rom 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God"

Jesus, most of the time required that the people that came to Him for healing first hear Him. Luke 5:15 says," they came to hear Him and to be healed by Him of their infirmities". The connection between hearing Him and healing is faith...

Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Whatever you are hoping for, faith is the substance of it. If you want healing, you must first have the substance of healing in your heart before that healing can be yours. How do you get this substance of Faith? Rom 10:17 tells us, it comes by hearing and to get the right kind of substance you must hear by the word of God. You can replace faith in Rom 10:17 by "The substance of things hoped for comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God".

This all implies that if you want to die without desiring to do so, all you need to do is to just keep listening to news about death and acquire substance of death in your heart. You will always have what you have substance for in your heart not what you are praying and asking for. If you fill your heart with substance for air crash, you will eventually have one. Is there anything you believe God wants to do in your life, this year start acquiring substance for it immediately. When prophecy shows you what God wants to do in your life, then the responsibility is on you to start acquiring the substance of it in your heart. This will enable God to do His promise in your life. If those substances are not there, it will be otherwise.

If hearing is this important, you must deliberately determine what you hear and how you hear. What you hear will determine what you have. God will be limited by what you are hearing. Let what God has for you be what you allow to develop in your heart as substance.

Prayer: Lord, help me to deliberately select what I listen to in line with what you are doing in my life in order to acquire enough substance for you to work with in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. Hebrews 11:1 AMP.
