Becoming The Preferred Choice Of God

You must be thinking about the assignment that God has for you on the earth such that you will be the number one choice of God every time. You must live your life in such a way that God will never have any reason to think of an alternative for you. When God sought for a King in Israel, Saul got there but God found an alternative for Saul. Let me tell you something that will humble everyone reading this devotion today; God has somebody else who can do your job!  That you have an assignment given you to carry out by God is not a right but a privilege. Memorise: For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. Zechariah 2:5

Read: Job 1:8-10

8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land...

Divine Protection Is Your Heritage!

Prepare Your Heart For The Word

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty (Matthew 13:23).

In Acts 17:11, Luke, by the inspiration of the Spirit, compares the Jews who heard the Word in one city to those who heard the Word in another city. He wrote that those in Berea “...were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Those in Thessalonica had a different response to the same message of the Gospel, compared to those in Berea, whom the Spirit describes as “more noble.” Continue...

Steps To Fulfilment Of Vision

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Hab. 2:3

Your Future Is History With God

As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations, before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).

Abraham was called the Father of Faith because of the extraordinary faith he demonstrated. At age seventy-five, God appeared to him and said, “I have made thee a father of many nations.” Even though Abraham didn’t have a child at the time, and was called “Abram,” meaning “assumed father,” God could see that the man was already a father of many nations. He’s the God that quickens (gives life) to the dead, and calls things that didn’t exist as though they already existed. To God, Abraham’s future was history. Continue...

Guard The Vision

And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. Gen. 37:5

Power Of Pre-Emptive Prayers

God always come ahead to prepare us ahead of what the devil is bringing and to position us correctly to face the opposition of the enemy. One major way of God going ahead of you is to move your spirit to pray pre-emptive prayers. Why things are easy for us today is because we prayed yesterday. For your tomorrow to be easier, you must begin to pray ahead. Continue...

Your True Origin And Identity

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world (John 17:16).

There’re those who say that having received the life of Christ, you still have your old nature. That's not true, according to the Scriptures. You don’t have two natures; you have only one, and it's the nature of God. The question however is, “Where do you live? With what consciousness do you function?” As Christians, we live simultaneously in two worlds. Once you're born again, you’re alive to God; you’re awakened to the fatherhood of God and to the reality of the Kingdom of God. Continue...

Excuse Me, Your Attitude Is Showing

Leaders are readers of people. They study a person like they would a book, by paying careful attention to words. If you listen careful to the words someone says, you will learn a lot about that person. Specifically, you’ll discover the person’s attitude toward life, which reveals his or her gratitude for life.

A positive attitude can be a person’s greatest asset. In fact, an upbeat attitude can take people to places that their ability could never carry them on its own. Attitude acts like a booster rocket, lifting people to a higher altitude than they could otherwise climb. Continue...

Saturday Open Heavens Devotional - Is God Silent?

Memorise: Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: Isaiah 59:1.

Read: Isaiah 59:1-3

2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. 3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. Continue...

The Truth About Difference And Distinction

God's kingdom is not built on similarities, it's built on differences. God created us equally, but He does not assign responsibility or give us portions equally. Differences are what makes life to work. You can't have faith beyond the level of your knowledge in God. God will not be a true rewarder if there is no distinction. There must be a distinction in the output if there are different inputs. Your life must be distinct from the life of an unbeliever in your office or the unbeliever staying around your house. Be Different

And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. Ex 33:11

Fast, Pray And Minister To The Lord!

As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them (Acts 13:2).

When you take out time to fast and pray, and minister to the Lord, you discipline your flesh in submission to the Word. This makes your spirit more receptive to God’s Spirit, breaking down the resistance of your human senses, thus aiding your spirit to pray more correctly. Fasting also positions you rightly for God’s Word to come to you. God may have been speaking to you, but you may not have picked His signals. But when you fast and pray, your spirit is conditioned to receive the guidance and direction He’s giving you about your job, finances, family, academics, the future, something that’s dear to you or that you’re interested in. God Is About To Do Something In Your Life

Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life. Matt 2:20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No devil can find what God hides.

What made the birth of Christ the most powerful event that happened in the history of man is that it is the power that took the devil by surprise. Continue...

Memorise: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4

Read: Ephesians 4:14-15
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ. Be Of Good Cheer!

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33).

These words of the Master give us the assurance of a victorious life. It doesn’t matter what you faced in the outgoing year, rejoice in the Lord, and celebrate His victories in your life. This is important because as we journey in life, we must have times of reflection: moments when we look back and see what the Lord has done, and then project into the future, into the greater glory that He has in store for us. The Greatest Challenge of Humanity

One of the greatest challenges of humanity is direction.

Humanity is looking for a way to find spiritual fulfilment; a way back to the garden of Eden. There is a vacuum in us that we will seek alternatives to fill if we don't find God.

Everyone is faced with the challenge of what to do, where to do it, what job to do, what career to study, what business to embark on, how to fulfil your call, who to marry, where to live, and the list goes on. All we need is direction (the course which must be taken in order to reach a destination).

Alcoholism is on the increase as many people want to drink away anxiety, confusion and frustration. I bring you good news today because the birth of Jesus is the introduction of the way (direction). Continue...

The Birth Of Jesus: The Most Powerful Event In History

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matt 2:1-2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In case anything natural is trying to rebel in your life, Jesus can rearrange it...

Lessons From The Birth Of Jesus

Bible References: 1 John 4:1 – 4, John 1:1 – 14.

Celebrating Christmas is the visible way of acknowledging that Jesus has come in the flesh. To have come in the flesh means He had to be born. Celebrating and choosing a date for that is an affirmation that Jesus was born. It was God that allowed this universal time to be set. Irrespective of the date you set to do your Christmas and the controversy, it is acceptable. If Jesus has not come in the flesh, He would not have qualified to stand as our Saviour and pay the price for death. Continue...

Merry Christmas To You!

It's the season of Christmas again and a time to remember our Saviour's birth. It is also a time to value the highest gift of love given to every human being by the Almighty God. I pray that however you choose to celebrate this season, you will get to know the Father's love.

May your heart desires be granted in this season. Merry Christmas.

The Glory Has Come!

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one (John 17:22).

In our opening verse, Jesus was talking to the Father in prayer about His disciples; He said, “The glory that you gave me, I have given to them.” This is amazing! I want you to know that the prayer is for us too, because in the same scripture, He said, “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” (John 17:20). So Jesus prayed for us as well, and gave us the same glory that the Father gave Him..

Read: Deuteronomy 30:19-20

20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. Christmas Is All About Jesus

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

Christmas is all about Jesus: who He is, and what He came to do. Christmas is a season to reflect on the special kind of life that Jesus came to give us. So, the underlined portion of our opening scripture shows us God’s plan: Christ in you, the hope of glory. Do you know what it means for Christ to be in a man? Contemplate this for a moment: if it’s true that Christ lives in you, what should that make you? Continue...

Celebrating Divine Life

…I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

As we bask in the euphoria of the yuletide season, it’s important to understand who Jesus is, and what He actually came to do. Jesus is not a religious leader; He didn’t come to establish a religion. There’re many who think He came to show us how to do good things, and live the good life; that’s not what He came to do. He came to give us life. Therefore, Christmas is the celebration of the divine life—the God-kind of life that we have received in Christ Jesus. Continue...

Tuesday Open Heavens Devotional - No Impossibility

Memorise: For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37.

Read: 2 Kings 2:9-10

9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. Confession Brings Us The Blessings Of Salvation

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).

Our opening verse says you believe with your heart, and are made right with God; however, with the mouth, confession (Greek: homologeo) is made unto salvation. It is your confession that activates and causes the blessings of salvation to be actualized in your life, so don’t be quiet. Speak the Word always. Continue...

Sunday Open Heavens Devotional - Detecting False Prophets

MEMORISE : Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 JOHN 4:1.

READ : 1 John 4 : 1 - 4.

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world....

Filled With All The Fullness Of God!

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:19).

From our opening verse, we understand that it's the will of God that we’re filled with all the fullness of God. Could this be real? Is this truly possible? Emphatically yes! He tells us to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18), and if you’re filled with the Spirit, you're filled with God, for the Spirit is Himself God! Continue...

Developing A Battle Plan Against The Devil’s Attacks (2)

Yesterday we started by understanding important facts about the attacks of the devil and they are:
1.Attacks from Satan are not authorized from God.
2.Attacks from Satan can be resisted and defeated. (here).

Let us see a few other important truths from our Bible passage (1 Peter 5:8 – 9) today:

A Key To Victorious Living

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever (Psalm 111:10).

In Matthew 22:29, while in dialogue with the Sadducees, Jesus said to them, "...Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." People make mistakes, and go wrong in their choices and actions, because they lack revelation knowledge of what the Spirit of God can do through the power of God's Word in their lives. The Word of God is the wisdom of God, and to walk outside the Word is to walk in error. Continue...

Saturday Open Heavens Devotional - The Fullness Of Time

Memorise: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1

Read: Acts 2:1-4

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.....

Developing A Battle Plan Against The Devil’s Attacks

The Secret Of Wisdom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Ps. 111:10

The Eyes Of Faith

But the LORD said to Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).

In Genesis 15:5, God said to Abraham, “...Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.” You’d notice that God was specific as to what He wanted Abraham to look at. He didn’t say to him, “Look up” or “Look around”; He said, “Look at the stars and see if you can number them.” Each time God tells you to look, He gives you what to look at, and usually, He wants you to see with the eyes of faith.
