FOR THE DAY: Whenever
you want to praise God acceptably, you must refuse to be distracted by your
needs, problems, etc...
The Hand of
God, which carries Power, Divine direction and Divine supplies comes upon the
life of a man who praises God.
What are the keys for effective praise and worship?
1) Focus
on God: Whenever
you want to praise God acceptably, you must refuse to be distracted by your
needs and problems. You must abandon yourself to only one agenda: to praise Him
who is worthy to be praised. You must praise Him with focus because the Word of
God says you must love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and with all your
strength (Matt. 22:37). That is to say you shouldn’t allow any
department of your life to be distracted during praise.
2) You must praise with gratitude: You must be able to identify things in your life that you can praise Him for. Psalm 103:1 says, 'Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. '
3) Praise in purity: The Bible says in Psalm 66:18 that ‘if I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.’ In 2 Chronicles 5:11-13, the priests who were worshipping God before the glory came were wearing white linen garments. And white stands for purity. Therefore, if you lie, cheat, live in deception, immorality, arrogance, ‘unforgiveness’ and bitterness, your praise is unacceptable.
