The Necessity Of Faith

The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written the just shall live by faith. – Romans 1:17. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The just could also die without faith.

The subject of faith is not just a doctrine of a particular church; it is not meant for some big spiritual superstars. Faith is not an agenda or subject of a pastor which he tries to make people understand. Faith is necessary for the building, development and deployment of your life’s potentials. Habakkuk 2:4, Gal 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38 tell us that the just shall live by his faith. And in Mathew 18:16, Jesus says, ‘……in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ Therefore, it is confirmed that the just shall live by faith. This means that faith is the livewire of the just. And if the just shall live by his faith, then the just could also die without his faith. Because of this beloved, the subject of faith calls for very intense consideration.
Why then is faith that necessary? What is the necessity of faith? Why shall the just live by his faith? Consider the reasons below:

1. Faith Supplies Needed Patience in Times of Delayed Expectations: In times when expectations seem to be delayed, faith supplies the patience needed to receive your portion. This was why Job asked in Job 14:14‘If a man dies shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait till my change come.’ This is the language of faith; faith speaks! Faith, therefore, is a supplier of patience. What happens when faith is absent in the lives of people? People work out alternatives in the absence of faith. Without faith, people easily say things like, 'If God is delaying in giving me a husband; I will get myself a husband.’
2. Faith shields your life from being ruined by the arrows of darkness: Faith guarantees exemption from generational disaster. This means that your case is different from that of others around you who don’t know God. Your faith shall work for you in Jesus’ Name!

ASSIGNMENT(S): 1. Ask God to increase your faith in the areas where you need it.
2. Deliberately exercise patience in any challenging situation of your life in order to see Divine intervention.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for granting me the Spirit of faith. Help me oh Lord, to grow my faith for optimal results, in Jesus’ Name.
