Faith; The Key To Accessing Your Inheritance

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. – Mark 11:23. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until faith is vibrant, a man’s journey in Christianity ends in disgrace and insult.

Faith is a conviction or belief that something is true or real without having evidence. It is belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something without logical proof. That is why Apostle Paul defined it as, ‘The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ – Hebrews 11:1.

Faith is so critical in our Christian journey that Acts 6:7 calls Christianity: the faith. Faith, therefore, is very central to Christianity. This is why Habakkuk 2:4 says, ‘….the just shall live by his faith.’ In essence, a Christian or a child of God can’t live without faith. This is why anywhere faith is lacking, Christianity will end in ridicule, reproach, ignominy and mockery. Until faith is vibrant, a man’s journey in Christianity ends in disgrace and insult. So, in order for us to experience the vital living force that Christianity has to offer, faith must be alive and active.

In Hebrews 6:12, the Bible says, ‘That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.’

Faith is therefore the key to accessing your promises and inheritances in God or rather, our promises and inheritances in God. This means that through faith, Scriptural promises are received. Through faith, Scriptural promises are obtained.

For instance, there is a promise that says, ‘The Lord shall make you the head and not the tail.’ (Deuteronomy 28:13). You obtain a promise like this only through faith. Another Scriptural promise says, ‘By his stripes you are healed.’(Isaiah 53:5) Through faith, you also obtain it.

Beloved, mere church attendance does not guarantee the promises. Duration of church membership cannot guarantee divine health. God’s promises are only obtained by faith, so, anywhere faith is lacking, the promises remain unfulfilled. Where a person exists without strong faith in God, the entire Bible (together with its promises) appears like a lie in his life. But this shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Live the life of faith for a colourful, appealing and attractive Christian life.
2. Continually remain rooted in the faith.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to have a substantial Christian life that has colour and substance, in Jesus’ Name.
