A Solution Is Always Nearby

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. 2 Kings 4:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There is a nearby solution to every difficult situation.
The background to the Scripture above is a story of a prophet who lived and died in debt and his creditors came to take his children in place of their money. It is obvious from the above passage that what Elisha used to solve the challenge of this widow was right in her house. What this is teaching us is that there is a nearby solution to every difficult situation. The pot of oil that constituted the solution to the widow’s challenge had been in her house. The prophet died without knowing that the answer to the debt he owed was right in his wife’s kitchen. If only he knew this, he might not have died. Unfortunately, he didn’t know it, so he died. Many of us may be suffering not because we don’t have the solution to our challenges, but because we can’t see it. The truth is, there is a nearby solution to every difficult situation. You may be saying, ‘I don’t have money.’ ‘I don’t have a job.’ ‘I don’t have favour with my boss.’ ‘I can’t get admission to the university.’ But there is a solution near you.

When the water of Marah was bitter, Moses didn’t have to travel to look for a tree because the tree was nearby. God showed him a tree he could easily cut; he cast it into the water and it was sweetened (Exodus 15:22-25). In the same manner, the ram that took the place of Isaac was nearby (Genesis 22:13). The stone that killed Goliath was not imported (1 Samuel 17:49); it was near the place where Goliath was standing. There is a nearby solution to any challenge you may be facing in your life, family, ministry or career, and God will open your eyes to see it today in Jesus’ Name.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Prayerfully ask God to show you the nearby solution to any challenge in your life.
2. Never give up on God concerning any situation.

PRAYER: Lord, the devil cannot prevail over my life when there is a nearby solution, in Jesus’ Name.
