According to our anchor Scripture, the secret of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the foundation for the construction of the house of wisdom. So anywhere there is no foundation, the construction is doomed. In the same manner, when the fear of God is lacking, wisdom can never be found. And if you are trusting God for the kind of wisdom that Daniel, Joseph, David, and men/women that affected their generation had, the fear of God is the foundation.

What is the fear of God?

The Bible in Proverbs 8:13 says, ‘The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.’ The fear of God simply is the hatred of evil. When men fear God, they hate evil. And when people lack the fear of God, they enjoy evil. The reason for the multiplication of evil in our society is due to the shortage of the fear of God. The Bible in Leviticus 19:14 says, ‘Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord.’ In addition, in Leviticus 19:32 the Bible says, ‘Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.’ Be wise and fear God.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

Begin to hate anything that is evil.

Try as much as possible to avoid what God hates.

PRAYER: Lord, put in me a hunger for righteousness and hatred for evil, in Jesus’ Name.
