This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all
that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then
thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).
The circumstances of your birth may not have been so palatable. You may
have been born into a poor home; and you had nothing to do with that. That was
another person’s responsibility. But don’t maintain the status quo, because
someone else was responsible; change things! You may have been born poor, but
you weren’t born to be poor.
If you were attending a particular school, and for some reason the school
closed up, are you going to say, “Well, there’s no need for me to go to school
anymore?” No, you’d go to another school, or read at home and enroll for your
exams. So, always, there’s something you can do for yourself. God needs your
action. He needs your response. No Christian is ever disadvantaged in life. You
can be a success in life.
In our opening verse, God tells us how to become a success; it’s by
meditating on the Word day and night. Practise this. As much as He wants you
prosperous, healthy, happy, strong and vibrant, you have a vital role to play
in making His dream for you come to reality. Irrespective of the circumstances
or the things you’ve been through in life, the onus is on you to be triumphant.
As a child of God, you’re not helpless. You have the Holy Spirit, and
He’s your unparalleled advantage. You can do anything, be as successful as you
want to be, and be a great blessing to your world. Yes, you can! God is waiting
for you to take the action. Take a hold of His Word, and let His glory, grace,
and excellence, be expressed through you.
PRAYER: Dear Father, your Word is in my heart and in my mouth, even the
Word of faith, which I’ve believed. I stand firmly on your Word, and with it, I
subdue circumstances! I reign victoriously in life, expressing your glory,
excellence, righteousness, and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY: James 1:22-25 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers
only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not
a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he
beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of
man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and
continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work,
this man shall be blessed in his deed.
