You do not
have to come to God to solve your problems but there would be problems that you
cannot solve any other way whether you go to the devil or you go to men, it
won’t be solved except you go to God. Sometimes, some people ask, “why do I
have to come to church? I am ok.” “Why do I have to practice what you are
preaching? I know many people that are not practising these things and they are
(on the surface) better than those that are coming to church.” That is true!
There are problems you can solve without coming to God. What you don’t see is
the afterwards of the life of those people. Never assume that if you don’t have
God or if you don’t come to God you will have perpetual problems, it is not
necessarily so. However, if you choose to come to God, there are certain
conditions that you must abide by.
Mastering
the subject of faith and being led by the Holy Spirit is critical to your walk
with God as a believer. Hebrews 11:6 says “...but without faith it is
impossible to please God...” That means there is no other way. “... he that
cometh to God must believe that He is...”. This is one of the conditions, “must
believe!” So, without faith, you cannot have any success with God. What
is happening to your faith is one of the first things you must keep checking as
a child of God. If the devil will attack your relationship with God, he will
start from your faith. Anybody that comes to God must make up his mind to
believe. If for instance, you want to go to the hospital, there are decisions
that you will make, differently from the ones you make when you come to God.
You don’t have to believe when you go to the hospital but you have to accept
what they are saying to you. But if you are coming to God, you must believe!
Note that “to believe” and “to reason” are two different planes of life and
existence. They are not conflicting but they are different. Sometimes they are
exclusive of each other, sometimes they coincide with each other, and sometimes
they conflict with each other. God operates on the plain of belief, men
generally operate on the plain of reason. So, when the bible says “he that
cometh to God must believe”, you must believe even though you have a faculty to
reason.
Prayer: Lord, I choose to believe you and
live a life of faith that will succeed with God in Jesus’ name. Amen
