Kogi state governor makes new appointments

                                           
Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi state governor, has appointed Folashade Ayoade as the new secretary to the state government. According to a statement made by David Onoja, the governor’s chief of staff, Momoh Jubril was named as the new accountant-general of the state. Premium Times reports that the list of the appointees included 20 new special advisers and three senior special assistants on print media, electronic and new media.
Ademu Idako became the new senior special assistant on print media. Before the appointment he worked as the correspondent of the Newswatch Daily and chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Kogi.
Petra Onyebule and Gbenga Olorunpomi were appointed as the new senior special assistants on electronic media and new media respectively. Other appointees are Olusola Okutimo, the security adviser to the governor, Ibrahim Mohammed, the legal adviser, and Abdulkareem Mohammed, the director-general of the protocol.
Gov. Bello also approved the appointment of five special assistants for his deputy.

Earlier this month, Gov. Bello appointed Simon Achu­ba as the deputy governor of the state. In a letter to the House of As­sembly, he asked the lawmakers to confirm Achu­ba as his deputy based on the refusal of James Faleke, the running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu, to accept the office.
