Former
senate president, David Mark, has been declared winner of the Benue
south senatorial rerun election. Mr Mark won with a margin of 12,571,
polling 84, 192 votes as Daniel Onjeh of the APC who polled 71, 621 votes.
PDP
had has raised alarm over the plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to
manipulate the results of the Benue South senatorial rerun. State chairman of
the PDP Dr Emmanuel Agbo has said the APC planned to hijack the results from
the polling units in Ogbadibo local government area and have refused to hand
over to the collation officers. The party claimed the APC candidate Daniel
Onjeh is the one leading the charade. “As a party we call on all security
operatives to arrest the situation forthwith so that the will of the people
will not be thwarted. The APC in connivance with some security operatives have
refused to allow the PDP agents access to the result sheets,” the PDP said.
