But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to
God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him (Hebrews 11:6).
No one can please God without faith, because God is a faith-God; He
functions by faith. You must believe that He exists, and that He rewards those
who diligently seek Him; those whose hearts are after Him.
There’re three important thoughts to observe in our opening scripture.
First is that you can only please God by faith. You can’t “see,” “feel,”
“smell” or “taste” God; He doesn’t relate with your human senses. He relates
with your spirit, which is the real you. The human being isn’t a physical body.
Your physical body is where you (your spirit) live. You’re a spirit; you’re
like God, because He made you (your spirit) in His image. Thus, relating with
God is an act of your faith. But what’s faith?
Faith is giving substance to the unseen. It’s the evidence of unseen
realities. We deal or relate with the unseen through faith, and the only way
you know they exist is because the Word of God says so. Therefore, your faith
is actually based on what God has said. Your faith comes alive when God talks.
For example, even though you might never have seen an angel, you know
that angels are real. This isn’t because a friend told you he saw an angel, but
because God’s Word tells us that there’re angels. In addition, we know that
heaven is real, because God’s Word tells us so. We believe everything God’s
Word tells us about Jesus: His birth, life, ministry, death, burial, resurrection,
and glorious ascension. So, our faith is based on the Word, not assumptions or
make-believe.
CONFESSION: I walk by faith and not by sensory perceptions! With my
spirit, I take a hold of the eternal realities of the Kingdom, walking in
divine health, prosperity, favour, victory and the peace of Jesus Christ! My
life is from glory to glory! Blessed be God!
FURTHER STUDY: Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God.
2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is
written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and
therefore speak;
