Closing The Door Against Evil - 25 October 2014
Memorise: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and
scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means
hurt you. Luke 10:19.
Read: Isaiah 49:25-26. Continue...
25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be
taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend
with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.
26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they
shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall
know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Message
The world is full of evil. Just listen to the news today and you will
hear all manner of stories of horrors such as armed-robbery, looting,
kidnapping, betrayal, persecution, terrorism, ritual killing, cannibalism and a
host of others. There is hardly a nation on earth where heinous crimes are not
committed on a daily basis. Evil is manifested in different shades and colours.
Some are violent, crude and horrific while others are subtle, mild and
deceptive. They may be emotional or psychological; physical or spiritual. Evil
is perpetrated at domestic, community, local and international levels. The
situation is perplexing. Peace is a scarce commodity nowadays. Many people live
in fear, torment, horror and anxiety. However, for a heaven-bound Christian,
the story is not one of hopelessness. We have reason to rejoice because there
is light at the end of the tunnel, Colossians 2:15 says:
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
“And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ paid the supreme price for our peace.
His death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven were all geared towards our
peace. Through His death and resurrection, he obtained permanent victory over
the devil and his cohorts. The author of all evil is the devil. He is assisted
by principalities and powers. Since Christ has destroyed the devil (Hebrews
12:14), and has triumphed over principalities and powers, the easiest way for a
person to close the door against evil is by surrendering his or her life to
Jesus. Be born-again. Jesus is more than enough to take care of your fears and
anxieties. You can also close the door against evil when you abstain from all
appearances of evil. Evil has the tendency to boomerang. Those who do evil, end
up attracting evil to themselves. To close the door against evil therefore, do
good to others. Be good and kind to members of your family, relatives, friends
and acquaintances. Be kind, even to those who persecute you and perpetrate evil
against you. There is a user of this devotional, who has been betrayed
severally by friends and loved ones. You can close the door to all the evil in
your life by forgiving all your offenders and being nice to them. Many people
are living under a curse. The good news is that the anointing destroys curses.
You can also close the door against evil through aggressive prayers. Pray
aggressively against witchcraft attack and destiny destroyers.
Action Point: Close the door against evil by putting on the whole armour
of God and confronting evil headlong. Begin today.
