Whether any do enquire of
Titus, he is my partner and fellow helper concerning you: or our brethren be
enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ
(2 Corinthians 8:23).
When God puts you in a
particular place of work or business, His interest isn’t about your office,
because that doesn’t count in His Kingdom. What matters isn’t whether you’re
the Managing Director or Chief Executive Officer; it’s not about your rank or
designation. What matters to God is how effective you are in using your office
to promote His righteousness. He wants your passion for the Gospel, for which
He sent His Son to die. Everywhere you are, you ought to be busy for the Lord. If you stand for Him, He’ll stand for you. The Apostle Paul, in our opening verse, was commending the commitment of Titus and others who were with him on his missionary journeys. Paul was proud of their commitment to the Gospel. He said, “…they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.” What a testimony! They were the apostles of the churches, sent on missionary activities.
It makes no difference where you are, and what you do; see yourself as a sent one; a minister of the Gospel. Stand for the Lord. Preach the Gospel. Minister the Word to those in your world. The Bible says He’s made us “...able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life” (2 Corinthians 3:6). You’re an oracle of God! You’re His mouth-piece. Speak for Him! Do His work.
Arise, and shine for the Lord! Do big things for Him. Be bold. Be daring. Nothing should be terrifying or intimidating enough to keep you quiet. Preach the Gospel as though you’re the only one the Lord is relying on to do it. Be an activist for Jesus Christ, bearing His message of faith, hope, and love. Fuel your passion for the Gospel and keep preaching it with all fervour, for the end is near.
