And the work of righteousness
shall be peace… (Isaiah 32:17).
In the days of Moses, truth and
judgment came together; and if truth bore testimony against you, you were
judged on the spot. But it’s not so with the Gospel. The Bible says, “Mercy and
truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall
spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven” (Psalms
85:10-11). In the Gospel, mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and
peace have kissed each other. Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The Greek word from where “justified” is translated is “Dikaioo” and it means to be acquitted and declared righteous. Which means since we’re justified, acquitted, declared righteous and have right standing with God by faith, we have peace with Him through our Lord Jesus Christ. In other words, there’s no enmity between you and God; the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ has set you at one with God. That’s what the word “peace” or its Greek equivalent “eirene,” mean. It’s “to be set at one again,” to be brought into harmony, concord, safety, felicity, and security with God. There’s no need for you to be afraid that one day, God will recall all your wrongs and punish you as a result. No. You’ve come home to Him; you’re now at rest in Him through Christ Jesus. He made it possible; it’s the work or result of His righteousness that you’ve received: “And the work of righteousness shall be peace…” (Isaiah 32:17).
Being born again, you’re now one with the Lord; He’s brought you to Himself: “Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.” There’s a oneness now. Glory to God!
PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank
you for the oneness I have with you! Being justified by faith; acquitted and
declared righteous, I have peace with you; your righteousness has produced
peace in me, and for me in your presence; peace with prosperity! I revel in the
divine harmony, bliss and joy that you’ve brought me into. Thank you for this
awesome privilege, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
