But the end and culmination of all things has now come near; keep sound
minded and self-restrained and alert therefore for [the practice of] prayer (1
Peter 4:7 AMP).
There’s so much wickedness and lawlessness, a superfluity of waywardness,
in today’s world. As a result, the love of many has gone cold. Many aren’t as
passionate and fervent for the Lord as they should: “And because iniquity shall
abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12). Don’t let that happen
to you. Remain excited about Jesus. Be excited about the Holy Spirit, about the
Word of God, and about going to Church. Be excited to praise Him, irrespective
of the challenges you might be facing, and the difficulties in today’s world.
Be fervent in soul winning.
The Bible says he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved (Read
Matthew 10:22). To “endure” means to go through certain difficulties and yet
not give up. No wonder Paul said, “But none of these things move me, neither
count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy,
and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the
gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24). He’s saying, “Come what may, I’m
going to keep serving the Lord, fulfilling His ministry and calling for my
life!”
Live for the Lord. The Bible says “And that he died for all, that they
which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died
for them, and rose again” (2 Corinthians 5:15). Let your love and commitment to
Him be revealed in the way you talk, the things you do, and in your character.
Love Him with all your heart, and express it lavishly by doing His Word.
CONFESSION: Precious Jesus, you’re the Lord of my life, and I live for
your glory. You’ve made me a light to my world; therefore, I shine ever so
brightly, leading others to righteousness. You’re my life and my joy; in you I
live, and move, and have my being. You’re the glory of my life, and I love you
with all my heart!
FURTHER STUDY: Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy
God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and
to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy
soul,
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the
night cometh, when no man can work.
2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times
shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters,
proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without
natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of
pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying
the power thereof: from such turn away.
