Faleke indicts Buhari in Yahaya Bello’s victory

Federal lawmaker, James Faleke has pointed accusing finger at the presidency in the loss of his case appealing the confirmation of Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi State by an elections tribunal.
Speaking in series of tweets he posted on Friday, August 5 after the Appeal Court kicked out his case against Bello on Thursday, August 4, Faleke alleged that the name of President Muhammadu Buhari was being used to swing court judgments by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.
“Mr president, tell your minister Malami to leave the judiciary alone to do their job. They are using your name to pass instructions to judges.
“Mr president, you have told the world that you’re worried about d judiciary but you have forgotten to tell your minister to leave them alone.
“Mr president, in all d elections you contested you went to court because you believe in the rule of law. Tell your people to stop perverting justice.”
He also noted that this was an opportunity for the president to correct judicial anomalies he had been complaining about in the fight against corruption.
“Mr president, you have told the world that you’re worried about the judiciary but you have forgotten to tell your minister to leave them alone.”
Faleke also reminded the president that he (Faleke) contributed a lot to Buhari’s victory at the presidential elections from Lagos and should therefore not be treated in an unfair manner.
“I want to remind Mr President Buhari that am still James Abiodun Faleke, your campaign director in Lagos.
“Mr President sir, we promised Nigerians that there will be change. Change in our attitude, tell your minister Malami to change.”
Faleke concluded his statement with the tweet that he has started the process of taking his case to the Supreme Court.

“For the record, I will test this judgement at the supreme Court and I have told my Lawyers to start working on that,” he added.
