Who being
the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding
all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3)
Jesus
Christ is the brightness of God’s glory, and the express image of His person.
That means He’s the outshining of God’s glory, the expression and icon of the
Father’s glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) says: “And we all, who with unveiled
faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with
ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” How
important it is to contemplate the glory of God.
In the King
James Version, it says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the
glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory….” What
does this mean? The mirror of God is the Word of God. What happens when we
contemplate the glory of God in the mirror of God? What does a mirror do? It
reflects whatever is set before it. If you were standing in front of a mirror,
you’d see your own reflection. The Word of God is that mirror.
Therefore,
that reflection, that glory you see when you look into the mirror—the Word—is
who you really are; you’re the glory of God. Every day, testify that you’re the
glory of God! Affirm that every step you take is the step of glory. Jesus said,
“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them…” (John 17:22); He’s
glorified you: “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and
whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also
glorified” (Romans 8:30).
You’re the
fruit of Christ’s suffering. The Bible talks about the sufferings of Christ,
and the glory that should be revealed (1 Peter 1:11). You’re that glory that He
saw that made Him endure the cross and despise the shame (Hebrews 12:2). Have
this consciousness; see yourself in, and as, the glory of God! Walk in, and
manifest His glory everywhere.
CONFESSION:
As I look into the mirror of God’s Word, I see the real me—an associate of the
Godkind with the life and nature of righteousness in my spirit. I’m the
effulgence of God’s glory, a dispenser of His grace, proof of His love and
goodness! He’s the light of my life, and in Him I live and move, and have my
being. Glory to His Name forever!
