Wednesday Rhapsody Of Realities - A New Heart

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

God’s Word through the Prophet Ezekiel in our opening Scripture is an extraordinary blessing for you, if you’re born again. God has given you a soft and malleable heart; a heart that’s easily yielded to, and influenced by, the Word. You have a soft heart towards God; an obedient heart. No wonder He calls you an obedient child (1 Peter 1:14). You have a heart that loves to hear about God, and read about Him.
Those with “stony hearts” don’t enjoy hearing or reading about God; they’re not influenced or impacted by spiritual things. But it’s not so with you; like David, you’re always excited at every opportunity to fellowship with the Lord; you’re glad to live in His presence. It’s easy for you to pray; it’s easy for you to worship the Lord, because you have a new heart; a heart that constantly seeks after God. It brings to mind the words of the psalmist: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God” (Psalm 42:1 NIV).
It’s easy for the Lord to lead and guide you in the paths of righteousness when your heart is after Him. He’ll cause you to do the right things, make the right decisions, be in the right places at the right time, for the right purpose, and in the right way. Halleluiah!
If you’re reading this and you’re not born again, this is your moment; this is your opportunity. God is talking to you today! He wants to change your life and give you a new heart! You can’t do it yourself. He alone can give you this new heart, with power over sin; power to live for Him and to please Him.
Turn to the “Prayer of Salvation” page at the back of this devotional, and make the life-transforming confession right away.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for giving me a new heart; a heart that seeks after righteousness and passionately loves you! I’ll serve and honour you forever, with a steadfast spirit and wholehearted devotion, trusting you to lead and guide me in your perfect will at all times, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
