Eight
students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo
State have travelled to the Florida
Agricultural and Mechanical University ,
US , for an
international exchange programme.
The
students are the second batch from FUTA to benefit from the exchange programme
between the university and FAMU.
The
collaboration, which began in 2013, will enable the students to proceed for
their master’s degrees as well as earn the FAMU postgraduate certificates.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adebiyi Daramola, while speaking at a pre-departure
event organised for the beneficiaries, advised them to be upright and focus on
their programme in order to achieve excellence in their academic pursuit.
The
Chairman, Committee of Deans and Dean, School of Sciences ,
Prof. Ibiyinka Fuwape, counselled them to remain focused in their studies.
She said, “America
rewards excellence. It will take care of you but you have to excel.” She further
urged them to be good ambassadors of the university and the country.
