Tuesday Rhapsody Of Realities - You’re Divinely Protected

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them (2 Kings 6:16).
There’s a very inspiring story in 2 Kings Chapter 6.The King of Syria wanted Elisha, a prophet of God, arrested. The Bible says, “Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about” (2 Kings 6:14). When Elisha’s servant woke up, he discovered that he and Elisha were completely surrounded, and he became terrified: "...Alas, my master! how shall we do?” (2 Kings 6:15). He lamented!

This was supposed to be a time of panic and trepidation; but Elisha, being a man of the Spirit, said to his servant, “…Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” (2 Kings 6:16).
How inspiring! He saw soldiers on horses and chariots, bearing weapons, yet he was unperturbed. He knew that the heavenly soldiers protecting him were far more than those that were sent to arrest him; he was conscious of his divine protection.
However, his servant was yet to come to that level of spiritual understanding. So, Elisha prayed and said, “... LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Kings 6:17). The young man didn’t know that he and his master were divinely protected by unseen multitude of angels.
But thanks be unto God, his master knew better! Just like Elisha, you should be mindful of your divine protection always, because “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever” (Psalm 125:2). So, fear not! When the enemy shall come against you, like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19).
No wonder He says, “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:10-12).

PRAYER: Precious Father, I thank You for the multitude of angels You’ve dispatched to watch over me. There shall no evil befall me or my loved ones, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. I’m protected in my going out and in my coming in, because I dwell in Your secret place. I walk in Your glory and divine protection today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Isaiah 43:1-2 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. [2] When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encamped round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
