Thursday Rhapsody Of Realities - Favour Others

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren (1 John 3:16).

There’s no culture or law against loving and helping others. Part of your calling in Christ is to be a “lifter and blesser” of others. Show them favour. The Bible says freely you have received, freely should you also give (Matthew 10:8). If you know how to expect and receive favours from God, you must be willing to express the same favour to others. Never stop giving to others.
Love is the hallmark of our Christian walk. Our opening verse says, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” It’s not talking about going to the cross to die for the brethren. It’s talking about being selfless, giving to, and helping others, expecting nothing in return.
Are you in a position to help someone? Make sure you do it. Give a helping hand. Maybe God placed you where you are because He knew a time of need would come for someone or certain people, and you’d be the solution. You’ve been blessed to become a helper. God has set up His headquarters in you, so you’ll be the dispenser of His goodness and favours to others.
There might be those who aren’t as financially established as you are, and might require your help. Don’t ignore them. If you want to see the greater manifestation of the Spirit in your life, love others genuinely, and demonstrate it. People came to Jesus from everywhere, not just because He was a miracle worker, but because they could see that He loved them; they felt and experienced His love. Be that kind of person.

PRAYER: Dear Father, I thank you for making me a solution provider, and for making me sensitive to the needs of others! I’m conscious that I’m the dispenser of your goodness and extension of your arm of favour to others. You’ve enabled me to be a helper and a lifter of others, for your glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: 1 John 3:17 GNB Rich people who see a brother or sister in need, yet close their hearts against them, cannot claim that they love God.
Romans 15:1 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
