HOW TO OVERCOME IDENTITY CRISIS

"I want to live my life in a way that when I get out of bed in the morning, the devil says, "Aw shit, he's up!" (Steve Maraboli). So many people are alive today without a sense of purpose. They simply follow the motions; sleep at night, wake up in the day and possibly do something to pay their bills - But experience no satisfaction. Life is a struggle and depression is not far away with God and life not being fair to them.

Two questions to ask about your life before you can value yourself are, who you are and what are you doing here! This means finding your identity. If you can answer these questions at any time, then you are a wonder waiting to happen. It is your responsibility to discover this. Having an education is not enough but having a vision is the key to distinction. Education without vision ends in frustration and confusion. You don't need to be like anyone else but you can learn from other people and take up new skills as you grow in life. Be confident in who you are. "You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously" (Steve Maraboli).

The most important thing in life is to make decisions that will affect your destiny. This is hard and uncertain if you have an identity crisis. This could result in you doing the wrong job, having a bad marriage and being in wrong relationships - as you sacrifice your satisfaction for money, instant result, or lack of knowledge and become disillusioned. There is always a second chance and there are things you can do to rediscovered yourself. But I would like you to know that God is interested in you than you can ever imagine!

The bible says in Jeremiah 29:11-

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for (MSG).

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Amp).

The greatest failure in life is to be successful doing the wrong assignment. Discover what you are good at (your abilities, gifts, interests and strengths), things you do effortlessly, that fill you with satisfaction and  give a sense of fulfilment. God has not created anyone empty but we all need to die empty. Make sure you use all the potentials you have in you to bless humanity and help to solve a problem.
