What We Celebrate At Easter

Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.’ – John 12:24. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: At Easter, we celebrate God’s tough and unfailing love. Today is Easter day celebration! Jesus defeated the forces of death and hell and rose from the dead. I give you three things we celebrate during this season.
1. At Easter, we celebrate the Power of Christianity: The resurrection of Jesus from the dead gave power to Christianity, making it a lively reality that is very different from the dead religions of the world. This resurrection power is what connects us to life. It is the force behind drastic change of life and destinies. It is the reason why a murderer can become a deliverer; it is the force behind a prostitute becoming a preacher and a paralyzed person becoming a healing minister. So, at Easter, we celebrate the power that gives proof and results to Christianity and that changes lives and destinies.
2. Easter is the celebration of the greatest investment in the history of humanity. From our anchor text, the corn of wheat is Jesus the resurrected Lord. He had to die in order to reproduce His kind. God had to sow a seed in order to reap fruits. So, Jesus, the Son of God, was invested into the soil of humanity to become the Son of man, so that the children of men can become sons and daughters of God (Heb. 2:14). Hence, Jesus Christ is the Humano-Divinity junction, where God became Man and man gained ascend into Divine nature.
So, at Easter, we celebrate access to Divine nature; the nature that forbids satanic oppression and illnesses and guarantees us access to God’s Presence and all It contains.
3. Easter is the celebration of tough, unfailing love: At Easter, we celebrate God’s tough and unfailing love. A love that does not give up. God’s love is tough because He sent Jesus to come and suffer calamity for the prosperity of others and to pass through ridicule so that humanity can to be free from reproach. What a Loving God; what a wonderful Saviour.
The meaning of this to you is that God’s love that rescued you from the devil is so strong that nothing can neutralise its effect in your life. Hold unto this and never forget it: God’s love that delivered you in time past will deliver and shield you again, again and again.
This is what we celebrate at Easter. The tough unfailing love of a Saviour.
