Now unto
him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by
Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21).
2
Corinthians 4:7 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” The Holy Spirit is the
power of the Godhead and He lives in you in His fullness: “But ye shall receive
power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...” (Acts 1:8). His power is
working in your spirit. Our theme verse says, “Now unto him that is able to do
exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power
that worketh in us....” What an inspiring thought!
Notice that
it didn’t say, “...according to the power that worketh in heaven.” This
explains that you have a role in the operations of the miraculous and
supernatural in your life. The glory of God is manifested in your life
according to the power that works in you. You can trust this power, because
it’s the power of the Holy Spirit. Activate and put it to work at all times,
and it’ll produce results for you.
Even though
God, in His sovereignty, can cause certain things to happen for you, He doesn’t
want to work independent of you. Some Christians often feel discouraged and
frustrated because they’re “praying to God to do something for them,” yet to no
avail. The issue isn’t with God; they’re the ones to activate the power of God
in them, to bring about the desired changes.
Become
conscious that God lives in you. His power is in your spirit. Activate that
power to work for you by conscious meditation on the Word, and speaking in
tongues. Bring that power to bear on anything, or any area of your life. Refuse
to think failure, defeat, or impossibilities; acknowledge that the ability of
the Spirit has been granted you to achieve supernatural results, and speak
accordingly.
CONFESSION:
Christ is my life and my sufficiency; He energizes me through and through and
His grace is sufficient for me in all things. I can do all things through the
supernatural ability of the Spirit that’s at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
